Doctor who provided abortion to 10-year-old girl moves to sue attorney general for defamation<\/a><\/p>\n

An attorney representing Dr. Caitlin Bernard, who provided an abortion on a 10-year-old rape victim<\/a>, has filed a tort claim against Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita \u2014 the first step in a defamation lawsuit against Rokita.<\/p>\n

Caitlin Bernard \u2014 the Indiana OB-GYN who performed the abortion on the young rape survivor \u2014 claims Rokita made statements in media appearances and press releases that he \u201crecklessly and\/or negligently failed to ascertain\u201d were true, including suggesting without evidence that Bernard violated the patient\u2019s HIPAA privacy rights and failed to file the proper paperwork required after treating a minor.<\/p>\n
