Susan Wood, former assistant commissioner for women\u2019s health at the FDA and current director of the Jacobs Institute of Women\u2019s Health Services at George Washington University, said the ADF\u2019s arguments aren\u2019t valid.<\/p>\n

Mifepristone is the only drug that is FDA-approved to terminate a pregnancy. The lawsuit is based on several fundamental mischaracterizations of the FDA\u2019s decision-making and the scientific evidence surrounding medication abortion.<\/p>\n If this lawsuit<\/a> is nevertheless successful, it would apply nationally and remove the drug from the market\u202fthroughout<\/em> the United States.
