At the behest of the Biden administration, Judge B. Lynn Winmill <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/08\/24\/judge-blocks-part-idaho-abortion-ban-00053493\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">blocked<\/a> the Idaho law.\u00a0 EMTALA, he noted, \u201cdemands abortion care to prevent injuries that are more wide-ranging than death.\u201d The Idaho law requires that doctors allow their patients\u2019 conditions to deteriorate disastrously before they can intervene. \u201cHealthcare providers can seldom know the imminency of death because medicine rarely works in absolutes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>n Texas, however, Judge James Hendrix <a href=\"https:\/\/cases.justia.com\/federal\/district-courts\/texas\/txndce\/5:2022cv00185\/365015\/73\/0.pdf?ts=1661334722\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">granted<\/a> an injunction against Becerra, blocking enforcement of the federal policy.
