The largest federal abortion ban in the country was quietly implemented by the Department of Veterans Affairs at the end of 2025. There is no exception for the health of the mother unless her death is almost certain, and there are no exceptions for cases of rape or incest. Donald Trump hasn’t addressed it, and the VA implemented it without any press release. At least 462,000 women lost their right to reproductive health care as a result.
